Many people have different beliefs or opinions on many different subjects. Whatever people are debating about, both sides of an argument have good reasons to justify their opinion. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, a tragedy play, it is believed that the stars and fate and many more aspects of astronomy control everything, including people’s actions and their demises. This is what everyone believed during William Shakesphere’s time, that the stars and fate control us as science weren’t as developed during his time and many people still believe that fate and the stars still control us today. Mercutio’s ego and his temper got him killed as he got angry and carried away Tybalt. But it wasn’t only his anger. As earlier in the play, Mercutio wanted to fight Tybalt and this was his ego talking. This all demonstrates reasoning on how Mercutio’s irresponsible actions and poor decisions caused his own death.This theme of character’s poor decisions causing Romeo and Juliet’s death is emphasized once again when Romeo killed Tybalt after Tybalt killed Mercutio. A quote that exemplifies this is, “Staying for thine to keep him company”. Either thou or I, or both, must go with him.”(123) This is yet another instance of a character’s poor decisions leading to their death, in this case Romeo. His impulsive and irresponsible behavior lead to his banishment from Verona as his love for Mercutio turned into hate and anger leading to this irresponsible behavior and poor decision to fight and kill Tybalt. This then lead to his banishment and Juliet drinking the sleeping potion, which then led to Romeo’s death with the poison and this then caused Juliet to kill herself. What this all shows is how in Romeo and Juliet many of the characters actions and poor decisions eventually led to the
