The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play known for its romantic scenes and the two “star-crossed lovers,” it introduces to characters who fall in love despite the family dispute and having just encountered one another, a play written by William Shakespeare, born in Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom in April of 1564 and his death in April 23, 1616. Shakespeare was a playwright and a poet and known for his plays such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth. As Romeo and Juliet’s sudden death occurred by them killing themselves, Romeo and Juliet prompted their own decisions that ended their lives.

During a small quarrel Tybalt slashes Mercutio with his blade, Romeo in revenge unshiefs his sword to duel Tybalt. After entering Friar Lawrence’s cell, Romeo receives news from Friar explaining that he has been banished, Romeo replies “For exile hath more terror in his look, Much more than death” (Shakespeare, 3.3.13-14) Romeo thinks that death is far worse than banishment. Likewise, Juliet deceived her father by telling him “I met the youthful lord at Lawrence’ cell, And gave him what becomed’ love [she] might'' (4.2.25-26) her father suggest “Ay, marry, go, I say, and fetch him hither”(30). Juliet lies about marrying Paris to be with her true love Romeo. At the termination of the play, Romeo and Paris duel under the church of San Francesco al Corso ending in Paris dead. As Romeo glimpses at Juliet’s pale body he drinks the cup of poison, prior Juliet awakens from her sleep. She sees Romeo on the floor with a cup in hand as she leans in “To help me after [,] I will kiss thy lips, Haply some poison yet doth hang on them” (5.3.165.166). She kisses Romeo as poison marks his lips, “Yea, noise[,] Then I’ll be brief. O happy dagger…there rust, and let me die'' (169-170) Juliet kills herself as she had seen Romeo's
