Throughout the book, Dower discusses the different aspects of a war based on race and nationalities. Dower covered the steps that take place in a war of race and devastating results that occur. He used the events of the war in the Pacific and specifically, the actions of the Americans and Japanese against each other. The main thesis of his work is best summarized in this, there is great positivity for humanity that can occur as a result of putting racial and nationalistic differences aside, however, there are still many looming possible results that can occur when there is a sense of focusing on negatives of differences one of these results could be a brutal war.
I have chosen one of the key people in this book that led to the deaths of Romeo and Juliette is Friar Laurence. I am choosing to punish the Friar because in act 2 Romeo went to his church and told him they would like to get married. Even after the Friar said that this was not true love, the only reason was that she was a pretty girl and that “man's heart lives in man's eye.” He still agreed to marry them. This shows that he didn’t care if they loved each other and was more concerned about the ongoing fight between the families.
The Conflicted Heart Juliet reveals that she is guilty about Tybalt’s death yet more devastated about Romeo’s banishment, evidentially taking Romeo’s side. Juliet’s husband, Romeo, kills her cousin, Tybalt. This act results in the banishment of Romeo which makes it impossible for him to come and see her. After hearing the dreadful news, Juliet begins to ponder whose side to take in this situation, her husband’s or her family’s. Midway through her dialog, she convinces herself that she should not cry because Tybalt would have killed her husband.
Act 4 scene 5 gears the audience up for the catastrophe of the death of Romeo and Juliet. Juliet has just taken the vial of Friar Laurence’s potion and is in an almost dead state. The grief demonstrated by her family is intensified with her father’s personification of death. Capulet describes, “Death lies on her like an untimely frost / Upon the sweetest flower of the field” (4.5.28-29). Shakespeare describes Death like a human or personifies Death to dramatize the moment.
Lord Capulet should be punished because his insistence on Juliet's marriage to Paris contributes to her tragic end. When Lord Capulet threatens Juliet, he puts immense pressure on her to take drastic measures. " Thursday is near; lay hand on heart, advise. An you be mine, I'll give you to my friend; An you be not, hang, beg, starve, die in the streets" (III. 5. 191-194).
In Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, Act 3 Scene 2 provides insight into Juliet's non-rationale for supporting Romeo. To begin with, Juliet's intense love for Romeo is evident when she questions, “Shall I speak ill of him that is my husband?” after only knowing Romeo for less than two days (3.2.106). Juliet's love for Romeo is so strong that she is willing to accept the consequences of their relationship, even though it may be dangerous. She is willing to take the risk of being disowned by her family and the disapproval of society in order to be with Romeo.

In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, there are two main powers, the Capulets and the Montagues, Juliet belongs to the Capulets and Romeo is a Montague. The difference in powers (the Capulets and the Montagues) will make a difficult problem for both sides. These different powers could be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Fate can be blamed for the deaths of the star-crossed lovers because of the feud that has gone on between the two families for many years.

Romeo, Juliet, and Lord Capulet are all important characters whose choices determine future events and what happens when it's all said and done. In the play, "Romeo and Juliet", by William Shakespeare certain character choices develop a theme in the story. Here are three characters that show "actions have consequences." For my first character, I choose Romeo, a complex character in the story. He's well known for making impulse decisions and acting with his emotions, making his choices more impactful to his already important stance here.

Furthermore, Attempting to make Romeo feel better, Benvolio orders Romeo to attend the Capulet’s feast, “Compare her face with the some that I will show, And I will make thee think thy swan a crow” (1.2.91-92).
