Romeo, Juliet, and Lord Capulet are all important characters whose choices determine future events and what happens when it's all said and done. In the play, "Romeo and Juliet", by William Shakespeare certain character choices develop a theme in the story. Here are three characters that show "actions have consequences." For my first character, I choose Romeo, a complex character in the story. He's well known for making impulse decisions and acting with his emotions, making his choices more impactful to his already important stance here. One impulse choice he makes was slewing Tybalt (aka killing him), in Act 3 Scene 2. It was quick and fast, and the action was not taken well. After he killed him, on page 129, Prince states, "And for that offense Immediately we do exile him hence." This quote shows Prince's punishment to Romeo for the crime he's committed. She too makes impulse decisions, but not as much as her counterpart and significant other, Romeo. For her, the choice is her taking out the vial and the knife, and setting them on the bed in Act 4 scene 3. She states, on page 191, "Come vial. | She takes out the vial. | What if this mixture do not work at all?" In this quote, Juliet questions whether or not she can trust the Friar and his potion. If it doesn't work, she'd be marrying Paris, and I wonder what would happen if she had. This action leads to Juliet taking the "poison" and going into a deep sleep. The whole plan was made pretty quickly and without much thought, another impulse decision. If this didn't happen, Romeo's death could've been avoided. This shows how some things that follow may have been avoided, but because she chose to go along with everything and not make sure Romeo got the letter, other things
