Have you ever wondered how life was like when schools were only for the privilege and Kings still ruled over cities. Well Romeo and Juliet tells of just that. In the story a man and a woman meet and instantly fall in love, but both of their families are in a fued which causes plenty of bloodshed and ultimately the death of the two lovers, now the question is who is to blame for the blood loss and tears shed for them? The first thing that came to mind was the feud between the two families.
(Doc C). Essentially stating that love is an emotion so strong that people lose self-control and patience when it comes to their partner. Love isn’t something that can necessarily be forgotten or easily overcome. When a person falls in love at a young age, their significant other may even start to become their reason to wake up every morning. It’s impossible to get your mind off them and you grow such a strong connection with them, which is what happened with Romeo and Juliet.
Two fathers together, for the first time, wept for the deaths of their children as their grief-stricken faces shone in the dusty light inside the tomb. Pain seared equally through all hearts of the Capulets and Montagues, both distraught by the unexpected death of their beloved children. The star-crossed lovers, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, recklessly fall in love despite their families’ raging feud. The couple’s newlywed lustful attitudes get them both, and many others, wistfully killed in William Shakespeare's incredible 16th century play, Romeo and Juliet. Due to the brilliant script of the play many question who is truly to blame for these abominable deaths.
Even though fate and destiny bear some responsibility for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, the impact love had on their brains is to blame since it possessed them and made them take more risks. When Romeo and Juliet first fell in love with each other, their love possessed them, which influenced them to make the decisions that led to their deaths. For instance, in a TED Talk titled “The Brain in Love,” Helen Fisher explains how romantic love can cause one to lose their “sense of self” and not be able to “stop thinking about another human being” (Doc C). This describes how romantic love can possess one, causing them to make poor decisions they wouldn’t normally make.
Love can cause you to do things unlike you, as the famous phrase goes “Love makes you crazy “. In Romeo and Juliet their love has caused them to be obsessed with one another, and have a constant urge to see each other, regardless of all the dangers that are watching over them. In addition, it has also been proven that love can compel
At only age thirteen, couples can not know what true love feels like, especially when they have only known eachother for a couple days. Throughout the play Romeo and Juliet, the so called “star-crossed lovers’” act foolish, rushing into a marriage and not thinking about the possible consequences that might happen to such a controversial relationship because of their feuding families. Ultimately, the rash decisions lead to the deaths of not only Romeo and Juliet, but along with Paris and Mercutio. Romeo and Juliet's’ rashness to get married and kill themselves along with Friar Lawrence’s hastiness to marry the lovers despite his beliefs, make a dangerous potion, and fail to deliver the letter to Romeo, all play a major role in the tragedy.
Throughout the Elizabethan era, in most cases, courtships were nonexistent; most individuals went immediately to marriage. Today, “couples usually spend some periods of time engaged before they actually marry” (Document A). Couples moving towards engagement establish a strong connection which is crucial to a relationship. Without a strong connection with someone, love may fizzle out, or there may even be a lack of love in the first place. Many times in the Elizabethan era, if any, a scarce amount of attraction occurred, let alone love.

Through a dissection of the play, an argument can be made proving that teenagers are capable of being in love; whether it be risking their lives and their family’s beliefs, disregarding social status, or literally killing themselves to be with one another. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is told by the nurse that Juliet is a Capulet: (Nurse to Romeo) “...her (Juliet’s) mother is the lady of the house” (Act I,
Both main characters, Romeo and Juliet meet and fall in love. Shakespeare helps bring a new light to his views on fate, love, and society. In an attempt to compare some aspects of the story to modern day teens, views, emotions and experiences I discovered that they were very
What is a relationship without love? It isn 't something that can last forever. It can not overcome the issues that arise in everyday life. It is a business deal that 's as fragile as the bonds it was built around. Only relationships that are completely based in love can survive the turmoils we encounter.
Raj Patel The love that Romeo had with Rosaline to me did not weaken the love and trust he had with Juliet, but helped it. When he first encountered Juliet he thought there was no one else in the world like Rosaline. When Juliet responded and did not ignore Romeo he felt better and more confident. Also it showed him to not give up and that to keep trying. It also showed him what true love was and help him experience love at first sight.
I’ve received your questions asking who or what influenced me in writing my very famous play, The Most Excellent and Lamentable Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. My main influence came from the author of, The Tragicall history of Romeus and Juliet Arthur Brooke. Arthur’s poem was published in the year 1562, approximately 35 years before my play was published. Our two plots are both the same, both characters meet and die.
What the hell is love? More importantly, what the hell is a love story? Everyone knows, it’s the story about how two young, star crossed lovers find each other in a hopeless situation, but isn’t that formula getting old? It wasn’t old for Shakespeare's time. Romeo and Juliet is arguably Shakespeare's most famous play.
Author D. H. Lawrence said “When I read Shakespeare I am struck with wonder that such trivial people should muse and thunder in such lovely language.” Lawrence noticed that even though Shakespeare's topics may not be relevant now, they are worth reading because they are amazing pieces of literature. Romeo and Juliet is a very important and influential piece of literature that should be taught in schools. Romeo and Juliet has some language throughout the play that most middle schoolers would not comprehend. Without reading Shakespeare most children would not have the opportunity or inspiration to learn what these words mean.
