Everyone knows Romeo is a true love story, but not many know their deaths could be avoided. Romeo and Juliet is a play that has been around for hundreds of years. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet try to overcome many challenges to try to get together. Their deaths are mostly on themselves because their inability to be patient, and their anger about each other’s families ended up killing them both by forcing them to isolate themselves from their families. Romeo and Juliet took their relationship way too fast. Romeo and Juliet met at the Capulet's party. That night they decided they wanted to get married, so Juliet sent the Nurse to figure out the time of the wedding. Romeo sets up the wedding by going to Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence agrees to marry them in hope of stopping the fighting. Friar states “For this alliance may so happy prove to turn your households’ rancor to pure love” (II.iii.90). Capulets and Montagues are fighting a lot lately and Friar hopes to stop all of that. The nurse returns from the meeting with Romeo and says to Juliet,“Then hie you hence to Friar Lawrence’ cell; There stays a husband to make you wife” (II.V.68). A few hours after Romeo gets married he meets up with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio. Soon after Tybalt and the Capulets show up. Tybalt is saying stuff to Romeo to try to get him to draw his sword and for them to fight. Romeo won’t budge but Mercutio does. Mercutio and Tybalt fight for awhile until Tybalt kills Mercutio. Benvolio runs up to Romeo and says, “Romeo, Romeo, brave Mercutio is dead” (III.i.115)! Romeo is enraged. He runs at Tybalt and they fight.
