"Love is a promise; love is a souvenir. Once given never forgotten, never let it disappear." In the play Romeo and Juliet are two characters who fall in love with each other and never leave each other's side. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy by William Shakespeare which was published in 1597. The two main characters fall in love at the Capulet's ball one night. However the problem is that their two families the Capulets, who are Juliet's family and the Montague, who are Romeo's family, have a long standing feud. Even though they have this forbidden love they still continue to see one another and end up getting married. They have a plan to stay together but this plan ends up turning out to be bad. There are many reasons people might want to blame Juliet's nurse she had her problems but she isn't at most to blame. Douglas Douper wrote in his essay about the nurse, "Her closest friend in the play, the nurse, argues against Juliet's love for Romeo and tries to convince her to consider the arranged marriage with Paris. The nurse tells Juliet, "you know not how to choose a man," capitulating to the demands of male authority rather than to the demands of the feminine heart, (3). While the nurse might have liked for Juliet to marry Paris she kept Juliet's marriage to Romeo a secret. She didn't tell anyone about their secret and forbidden marriage and she told Juliet she supported her decision. Another reason that someone might blame the nurse is on the fact that she didn't tell anyone about the marriage which lead to Romeo and Juliets stronger love for one another. However she might not have told anyone she still stayed true to Juliet when she needed a friend the most. She helped Juliet express herself and not follow the orders of her parents. She helped Juliet sneak out to marry Romeo and she also helped Juliet send letters to Romeo. So while some people may see the nurse is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and
