The year 1981 was a year of iconic moments, and controversial events, and amazing discoveries. They're where many events that are still talked about even to this day and will still be talked about for years to come. Events such as the inauguration of a new president, and the assassination attempt. In addition, the introduction of the first female Supreme Court judge, which is a stepping stone for all women. 1981 was also a year if iconic music, the music that came out that year heavily influenced many of the artists that are popular now. 1981 also gave birth to music icons that the music innovators of this day. Ronald Reagan was born on February 6, 1911. Ronald Reagan had an early career in radio and film, before moving on to become a politician. Reagan had landed a contract with Warner bother studios and had starred in many films. Reagan had started his political career initially as a democrat, eventually becoming republican in 1962. Shortly after Reagan move to the republicans party, Ronald Reagan ran for the governor if California in 1965. Ronald Reagan served as the governor of California from 1967 to 1975. After finishing his term as governor of California, Reagan started to work on running for the U.S presidency in 1976. Reagan started his campaign for president of the United States in 1980, eventually getting elected in 1981. During his presidential term, Ronald Reagan n nominates Judge Sandra Day O'Connor, 51, of Arizona, as the first woman on Supreme Court. Ronald Reagan finished his term as president in 1989, to be succeeded by George Bush senior.
