Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan is known by many as the face of a conservative. Ronald Reagan during his presidency. I believe that Ronald Reagan showed many of the qualities that a strong leader should show such as deep faith, willing to admit failure, and a love of freedom Ronald Reagan once said, “If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under”. This quote shows how deeply rooted Reagan was in his Christian faith. His belief in the one true God led him to reject communism and to appeal for better programs to help the poor. He rejected communism because communism by definition is atheistic because it seeks to replace an all-knowing god with an all knowing government and urges the people to depend on the government for their bread instead of relying on God for their daily bread. . In addition, Reagan opposed the welfare system because the majority of the money being spent on it was not going directly to the poor or needy but was sustaining the bureaucracy..
