Ronda Rousey, age 28, is the current most prevalent MMA fighter in the United States, and even in other parts of the world. A well-known Mixed Martial Artist, Judoka fighter, and Actress, she has become one of the biggest names in the fighting scene. She began her career in 2010 and since then, she has become one of the most influential MMA fighters of all time. Ronda Rousey didn’t live an easy childhood and faced many hardships growing up. She was born on February 1, 1987 in California, and was raised in Riverside. Her childhood was plagued with a series of misfortunes beginning with issues she endured from birth. In 2010 she returned to competitive fighting and Rousey ,or ¨Rowdy,¨ started her MMA legacy with a fight against the amateur MMA fighter Hayden Munoz. The fight lasted a total of 23 seconds, Rowdy winning by using her signature armbar move. She had a total of three fights in her amateur career, coming up victorious against Autumn Richardson and Taylor Stratford using the same famous armbar move that she had learned from her early Judo training with her mother.. In 2011 she announced her decision to go professional, leaving behind her amateur career with a record of 3-0. Her professional fighting career commenced with Ediane Gomes at the King of the Cage: Turning Point on March 27, 2011. Gomes submitted to Rousey in a brief but intense fight, lasting only 25 seconds. Next facing the kick-boxing champion Charmaine Tweet in a match that was finished in 49 seconds, Ronda Rousey had become known as the undefeated champion, and was seen as truly a game-changer for professional MMA fighting. On February 23, 2013 Rousey fought her first match in UFC against Liz Carmouche and won using the armhold move that originally made her famous. She continued her winning streak, and in May of 2013 she started training for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs Team Tate. Because of a leg injury, it was announced that the original completing coach against Rousey, Cat Zingano would instead be replaced by Rousey’s long held rival, Miesha Tate. The two coaches went head to head and Rousey’s team came out victorious which only fueled their growing hatred. It led to another match between Ronda Rousey (Rowdy) and Miesha Tate (Cupcake) that took place at UFC 168 on December 28 in 2013.
