In 1955 The Montgomery bus boycott took place, this consisted of African Americans refusing to get on busses in Montgomery due to unfair treatment of white passengers.. This lasted from December 5, 1955 when Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat until December 20, 1956. Many protesters were arrested but made a unforgettable change and accomplishment in history.
