Mrs. Alison Davis-Blake, the Dean of the Ross School of Business, puts it best when she explains how businesses control more resources than most governments and nonprofit organizations. Businesses are extremely powerful in modern society and a degree in business provides endless possibilities for a career in the real world. Compared to other schools, Ross School of Business has better professors and a more rigorous program. Many top firms such as Deloitte, Goldman and Sachs, JPMorgan, and Citi hire directly out of Ross. The biggest reason that the Ross School of Business is appealing to me is the educational prestige that the school has. In a time where the economy is weak and many college graduates struggle to find a job after graduating college, Ross school of Business provides a safety net with a guarantee of finding a job after graduation. Finally, Ann Arbor's location only a few hours away from my hometown would mean that I could frequently visit my parents at home. Being close to home would help ease the stress of going to college and being away from home for the first time. The University of Michigan not only offers an excellent educational program but also an extremely diverse campus. Students at this university represent all fifty states and over one hundred twenty seven of the world's countries. Studying at the University of Michigan would provide me with an excellent opportunity to learn about other cultures outside of the classroom.
