Lights! Camera! Action! It’s time for prom! Prom is a very elegant high school dance that is held once a year. Girls and guys get all fancied up to enjoy the time of their life for one night! There is lot of planning and stress when it comes to getting ready for prom. Girls have to find the perfect dress, and guys have to find a suit and tie that fits their date’s dress. This is very stressful for both genders, but once the actual dance comes along, the stress is free. Not only is it hard find the right apparel for the night, but it is also super hard to make a prom proposal. Guys have to have enough courage to ask a girl to prom. Yes, there is the glam and glitz when the girl says yes to the guy who proposed really cute, but what about the guys that get turned down? That would hurt their feelings to get turned down in front of a lot of people, especially with a huge production. Working so hard to produce a super cute way to ask a girl to prom to end up getting turned down would just be awful. Students may experience hurt feelings caused by public rejection. Just imagine being in a huge crowd of people getting ready to ask this girl to prom. Flowers in hand, poster that says, “(Name), will you go to prom with me?” Then, she comes back with, “No, thank you.” That would be a crushing moment. Not only would your feelings be hurt, but you would feel totally let down. Some girls would actually feel bad for saying no, but others may not. Another instance would be something dealing with the girl already having another date. Wouldn’t that be awful to go through all of the work to prepare a prom proposal only to find out that she already has a date? Hurt feelings are just a negative side effect of a turned down prom proposal, but it isn’t the only thing that can come from a prom
