Anne Frank's Diary is a widely read novel about life in hiding during the Holocaust from the point of view of a young Jewish girl. There is a strong debate on whether or not her diary should have been published due to the information within it. Otto Frank was right to publish Anne’s diary because she wanted to publish books about her diary, better mankind, and her diary was a historic document that deserved to be read. First, Anne always wanted to be an author and write about her time in hiding. Anne was an exceptional writer that wrote in great detail and had a passion for writing. Many Jews refused to talk about their time under Nazi rule and have been left with permanent scars that never heal. First hand accounts benefit people in many ways by providing an authentic experience while having the raw emotions within (history skills). Anne’s diary provides a unique perspective of life in hiding, while providing vivid emotions in her writings. When her diary received the well deserved attention, Anne Frank house was made in honor of the families in hiding. Anne once said that she wanted to live on even after her death (180 Frank).
