The movie Cars is an animated film that takes viewers into the fascinating world of talking cars and on a nostalgic journey along route 66. The film takes place in a world where there are only cars. The focus is on a hotshot rookie race car named Lightning McQueen who only cares about speed and racing but soon finds his love for slowing down. McQueen finds himself stranded in a forgotten town named Radiator Springs, located along the historic Route 66. Despite being a film about the speed found in racing, the Disney movie Cars utilizes Route 66 to promote a message of slowing down and enjoying the ride.
