In a Rube Goldberg experiment you can find many different physics concepts woven into its complicated transitions and exciting outcomes. During our experiment we used Gravitational potential energy, Kinetic energy, Momentum, mechanical energy, and elastic potential energy (among other things) to make this experiment happen. Our experiment started out with a type writer’s tab bar being pushed to push a car down a ramp, the typewriter has potential energy before the key is pushed as does the car. When the tab bar is pushed the typewriter, then has applied force which will change the energy from potential to kinetic energy. The transfer of energy from the typewriter to the car will change the car’s gravitational potential energy to kinetic energy and pushes the car down the ramp. Which send the car …show more content…

All of the dominos have gravitational potential energy that transforms into kinetic energy when the first is hit by the bat and transfers the kinetic energy to the others in the line. When the final domino falls it hits the mousetrap, which previously had elastic potential energy, causing the trap to flip out of the way when it is hit. The mousetrap was stopping a windup-car from flying forward with its elastic potential energy and when it is moved out of the way the kinetic energy throws the windup-car off of the table, thus concluding our experiment. However, it is also important to note that as the Kinetic energy of the energy decreases the Potential energy increases and vice versa. It is also important to know that throughout the entire experiment
