The testimony of Ruby Bates was full of many lies and avoided answers. She started off by saying that her and Victoria Price were raped by African-American boys on a train. Her story about that day on the train continued to change when asked about it later on. While in court during the next trial, she confessed that they were never attacked or raped. According to Ruby Bates, her and Victoria Price got nervous when they were forced to get off the train that day. They were nervous because they thought they might get charged with the Mann Act, which is crossing borders with immoral intentions. To draw everyone's attention away from that fact, they claimed they were raped. Ruby Bates said that the whole story was made up and that Victoria Price told her everything to say. It is crazy to think that one of the supposed victims confessed that the whole thing was made up, yet the trials still continued on. …show more content…

He acknowledged the fact that there is a lot of prejudice going around. The judge told the jury to look at the facts. Sort through the lies and misinformations and go off of nothing but the truth. The jury is to go off of the information they have and not by what other people tell them to think, but to really look at the facts and evidence of the situation. This stood out because with all of this hate and racism going around, the judge wasn’t going to fool around with that. He was wanting the truth. Justice is all that he was seeking.
