I think Kerstin Gier did a fantastic job. She hooked me as soon as I started reading. This book is different than other books about time traveling and other unknown magical things. She writes about specific details as if she time traveled herself. With having realistic details created suspense. The suspense makes it hard to put the book down. Along with specific details about time travel she gives very detailed descriptions of the characters and setting. With these descriptions the reader is able to picture every scene as if you were there in that moment of time. This allows the reader to almost have an emotional connection with Gwyneth when Charlotte tells her she won’t make it through training or when Gwyneth falls for Gideon. This connection allows the reader to be the protagonist and feel the joy and pain the character feels. Overall I loved the book and think Kerstin Gier did an amazing job of hooking the reader and keeping them
