Ruler Drop Test The fitness component in relation to this fitness test can be identified as the reaction time and this can be defined as the “time between the presentation of a stimulus and movement” (BTEC Sport Level 2). I was able to achieve a result of 14cm for my first trail and a result of 21cm for my second trail and eventually, my average was 17.5cm. And I was able to fall under the “average” category when I compared my result with a standard data table. For me to be excellent, I should be able to have an average of less than 7.5cm think my level of reaction time was pretty normal because being a swimmer means that I will be trained to make my reaction time better as reaction time is what helps me reduce my block time. The reason as to why I couldn’t achieve a better rating was because I was distracted. I performed this fitness test near the primary music room and because of this; my mind was a bit fidgety. But other than that I don’t think there would be any other reason because usually when it comes to swimming, my reaction time is pretty good and this is a great strength as I have a big advantage over my competitors. And as you can see, there is a 7cm difference between my first trail and my second trial and I think this was because of over-confidence. We performed this fitness test as a …show more content…
There aren’t any famous types of training unlike the other fitness tests that I’ve mentioned above but one type of training that I myself perform during my squad training is overspeed training. During this type of training my coach doesn’t allow me to spend much time on the block, he blows the whistle as soon as I get on the block. Of course this doesn’t happen during swimming meets but my coach does this so that I pay more attention and that I am more alert. There is no specific training schedule for this type of training but below is an example of how I train. My coach reduces the time little by
