Music Analysis Essay Song 1 I have selected ‘Cross Roads Blues’ written and recorded by Robert Johnson in 1936, one of the best Delta Blues singer, song-writer and musician (May 8, 1911-August 16 1938). Robert Johnson performed ‘Cross Roads Blues’ as a solo piece with his vocal and acoustic slide guitar in the style of Delta Blues, produced by Don Law. This song has become a part of Robert Johnson’s mythology because in this song he is talking about the place where he met the devil and sold his soul to the devil in exchange of his musical talent, even though lyrics do not comprehend those references. ‘Cross Roads Blues’ prove that Johnson’s singing style and impressive guitar skills, still copied by Blues and Rock n’ Roll musicians to this
“Grief does not change you, it reveals you.” This was precisely the case for the protagonist in "Off the Road" by Daniel Duayne. In an instant we see a man stripped of his socially constructed facade, bare, left vulnerable to the whim of his emotions. In this visceral state, his poignant reflections of the past implore us to evaluate the universal concept of loss, and in doing so, reminds us how facing reality and the totality of its truth, can influence how we internalize trauma, and ultimately make necessary sacrifices, to move forward. There are five instances where Duayne references his family in conjunction with his truck, these memories seem to weave the vehicle into the family dynamic.
Stock Car Racing The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing is family owned and operated by Bill France. The first NASCAR sanctioned race was February 15, 1948 at Daytona Beach, Florida. The first national race was June 19,1949 at the Charlotte speedway in North Carolina. The first winner of this race was Glenn Dunnaway.
The passage, “Always Running” by Luis J. Rodriguez evokes the tone of indifference. Rodriguez demonstrates these tones through imagery. For example, at the beginning of the passage the narrator, Luis gives us background information about his living situation to set up imagery for the rest of the passage. Then, Luis sets the tone of indifference with this sentence “So without ceremony, we started over the tracks, climbing over discarded market carts and tore-up sofas.” This quote uses the literary device of imagery because the narrator is painting a picture of their environment.

REVOLUTIONARY ROAD This film tells a terrible story of disillusionment. Based on Richard Yates's magnificent first novel, Revolutionary Road opens in the apparent innocence of the mid-1950s, ushering us into a suburbia of large finned automobiles, clapboard houses and lush, manicured lawns. Two young people meet at a party, get married, have kids and set up house. He has an office job in the city, she does the housework: and both become demoralised by the routine.
Mad Max: Fury Road and the novel, Girl at War by Sara Novic both contain endings where the protagonist achieves a goal. In Mad Max: Fury Road, the ending is more successful due to the successful recovery of the Citadel and the hope for a better future. In Girl at War, the ending includes Ana reaching her goal of finally finding“home”where she does not have to lie about her past and can overcome her mental issues, but Ana’s goal of coming back to Croatia to find out what has happened to the people she had lost is not fulfilled. She never does find out where Marina ended up after Petar’s death. The ending was not as satisfying to the reader because the reader was left with unanswered questions.
This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease. If they don’t, sea-levels could rise and flood certain areas of the world. Secondly, electric cars, ironically, use less energy than gas cars to move
“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” A piece from Robert Frost’s poem “A Road Not Taken” shows how making a decision can change a person’s life. For me, my decision was talking to my parents about finding help for my severe anxiety and depression. Because of that conversation, I’m the best I have possibly been for a while. But I reminisce back to that day in the doctor’s office and wonder - wonder why I told them, wonder why I felt that way, wonder what could’ve happened if I had not said a word.
First of all, let’s talk about the environment. I’m sure you all know about greenhouse gases and global warming, so I won’t talk much about that, but you may not know that road vehicles produce 10% of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This does include vehicles other than cars like trucks, but Tesla just came out with an electric truck which is faster and can carry more weight than any petrol/diesel truck. Greenhouses gases carbon-dioxide and methane have hit their highest levels in the past 420,000 years, and the extent of arctic sea ice has declined about 10% in the last 30 years. This is all because of global warming, and if we start switching to electric cars, we could make a big difference and maybe, just maybe the effects of global warming will decrease.
