At a very young age I was aware that my bold and inquisitive personality was destined to join the field of law. Over the years, I accustomed myself with the practice of analyzing beliefs and the underlying nature of our ideas. My beliefs and ideas led me to the pursuit of a degree that would allow me to mentally prepare myself to know what to questions to ask and what answers to seek. I found that philosophy would best prepare me for my career goals. I believe studying philosophy at Rutgers University will give me all of the tools that I need to be an ideal candidate for a Rutgers Law school.

I am particularly interested in taking part in the Phi Sigma Tau International Honors Society in Philosophy to meet people who are of interest in the practice of thinking analytically about all that surrounds them. A few other organizations that I will seek to join on campus are Black Student Union, CurlyinCollege, Family Promise Supporters at Rutgers, and the Haitian Association at Rutgers University. Being a part of Black Union will heighten my awareness of current social problems being faced by minorities in America. CurlyinCollege will afford me the opportunity to surround myself with fellow people of color with natural hair to share our tips with each other. The Family Promise Supporters at Rutgers organization will feed my need to be involved in the community through volunteer service. The Haitian Association at Rutgers University will give me the chance to learn more about my Haitian culture while teaching others on campus as well. The opportunity to join different organizations on campus is imperative to my academic endeavors because of the growth I will experience as well as the chance to meet new people.
