The essay of Ryan Holiday’s “The New Digital Divide” truly calls my attention. I do and do not agree with him in some points. Digital divide means a gap between having access to technology and those who do not or have a restricted access. He talks about how the usage of the Internet can be positive or negative. But in reality they are many different ways of why digital divide is caused. One of the main causes that Ryan Holiday stated of digital divide is the income level. He says that people with lower income have a restricted and cannot afford access to technology, but they do not have the intelligence like “white people” does. Which I totally do not agree with him because now in days we can see people with a lower income that has the latest technology device and have unlimited access to the internet. We cannot compare people incomes with education. For example, I have seen and know people of a low income that are able to talk about issues or news on the internet and people with a high income that does not even know what is going on.
