A lot of the bands I like to listen to come to Raleigh and Chapel Hill so I would be closer to both of those places. NC State also has an average class size of about 30 students, so this would be optimal for me. There are also some drawbacks to attending NC State. First off, I don’t like the vibe of the NC State campus nearly as much, it makes me feel like I’m in a busy city as opposed to a college.
I began my education at Stephen F. Austin State University, which was founded as a teacher’s college in 1923. That is why I chose SFASU because I wanted to teach children, plus I wanted to concentrate on teaching them to read. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education and Generic Special Education in 1985. I concentrated on working with the at-risk population and began my journey as an educator in January 1986. I quickly realized that I had a thirst for knowledge and set a goal to continue my education until one day I would receive my doctorate in education.

The cons of staying and going to community college would be that I won’t be able to branch out, I will be missing the same social interaction as if I was living in a dorm, and community is only a two year degree. I won’t be able to branch out and meet new people, since I will most likely know a lot of the people going to community. I won’t live in a dorm and have a roommate, which means I won’t have the same social interaction that my introverted self really needs. If I am going to college, I want to be able to get my bachelor’s degree. Community only offers an associate degree and some
College always seemed to be on my life’s road map. It was never a matter of if I would go, but rather when I would go; what subject would I devote my time to studying and most importantly, which institute would I decide to attend. Regent University, so I have read, “was founded on biblical principles to make a significant difference in our world”. Their mission statement rings true by the testimony given to me by a couple of coworkers that attend Regent and only have the best reports to give. I look forward to joining the Regent family and expanding my mental and spiritual horizons.
