SIU Carbondale is a Division One College in Southern Illinois. Bryan Mullins, SIU Carbondale’s men's basketball coach, joined the program on March 20, 2019. Mullins is SIU’s 14th head coach. Bryan played basketball at SIU for four years. The following year, Bryan had come up short of the NCAA Tournament, but instead, his team was invited to the NIT tournament. After Mullins graduated, he came back to SIU to coach men's basketball. The 2020-21 season started off hot. Had a starting record of 7-0 and beat Butler to bring more momentum to the season. Finishing out the season, SIU had a home record of 11-4 and an overall record of 16-15. (“Bryan Mullins - Men's Basketball Coach”). Nick Hill is SIU Carbondale’s football head coach. In 2022, Hill signed an exception contract till 2026. In the last 3 seasons, SIU has had a record of 10-6 against ranked opponents. Ten wins against ranked opponents, including the following rankings: 1,2,3,4,15,17,19,20,22,25. SIU was nationally ranked for 30 weeks in a row (the program's longest streak since 2010). Nick Hill’s hometown is Du Quoun, Illinois. During his senior year there, he led his team to a 3A State Football championship game. Hill also played basketball for the Indians. He averaged 23 points per game and chose to go to Western Kentucky over many Division 1 offers to play basketball. In his freshman year, he broke his left hand, making him sit on the bench all
