In the book “Streams to the River, River to the Sea” the author, Scott O’Dell has made the female characters, especially the main character, Sacagawea, in his novel strong, resilient, loyal, and intellegent. They display on many occasions, and at many times when the decision genuinely mattered. O’Dell’s remarkably capable women strengthen her book; they make the book stand out among other novels with fragile, powerless women engraved in their works.
