Sacajawea was a strong and courageous woman who made a difference in American History.
Her knowledge of the land and people around her became incredibly useful to the foreign explorers. Sacajawea was a young, Indian woman who helped lead the Corps of Discovery across the Louisiana territory. Her Help enabled the United States to expand its territory.

Sacajawea was a Native American women who was born sometime in 1787. She was born in Salmon, Idaho near the Rocky Mountains. Some people believe that Sacajawea’s father was a leader of the Shoshone tribe (Tieck, 6) Sacajawea had two brothers, the oldest brothers name being chief Cameahwait and they youngest brothers name being unknown.
When Sacajawea was young the Hidatsa Tribe kidnapped her.
