My Saint is a catholic patron saint of fishermen who founded the church of Byzantium. Saint Andrew was a disciple of John the Baptist, Saint Andrews birthdate and where he was born are not known. My saint was born 5 bc Galilee Roman. Saint Andrew had a strong sense of curiosity. He would have gone to the synagogue school at the age of 5 to study scripture and then astronomy and arithmetic. Later, the bank of the Andrew river, he met John the Baptist Saint Andrew was the first disciple and the first apostle. He was the one who brought the boy with the loaves of bread and the fish to Jesus before the feeding of the five thousand. People say that he travelled to Asia Minor and the Black Sea. Through his prayers god did some miracles. Saint Andrew finally got to the city of Patra, where he suffered martyrdom. He also gave the blind their sight and the infirm was made whole. Saint Andrew learned about Jesus from the preaching of John, the Baptist. Nothing made Saint Andrew happier than bringing people to meet and believe in Jesus. After Pentecost, the Holy Spirit helped saint Andrew continue to bring people to Christ. His stories about Jesus convinced many people to be baptized. Saint Andrew was a true missionary for Christ, preaching in Greece and Russia. He was crucified by the Romans on an X-shaped cross at Patras in Greece and, hundreds of years later, his remains were moved to Constantinople and then, in the 13th century, to Amalfi in southern Italy where they are kept to this day. Saint Andrew is also patron saint of Greece, Russia, Italy’s Amalfi and Barbados.
