Going into the explorer program I didn’t know what to expect, would it be scary, would I perform well under pressure, is it dangerous? Explorers serves a purpose, to find who you truly are as person, it separates the bystanders from the action takers, the courageous and the cowards, you find your voice. Explorers is not for the lazy, the individuals who add nothing to a team will not succeed, and it is evident when an individual does not want to do their job. I believe I have always had the traits of a leader, whether it was raising my hand to answer a question in class when no one else would or taking charge of a situation during scenarios. I have continuously proved myself capable of receiving high scores in scenarios. Receiving first place in the domestic scenario at the Duluth Conference this past year serving as team leader. Along with receiving continually high scenario scores I am continually increasing my knowledge of statutes and other laws to increase my confidence of being able to articulate why I made the decision I made. I am continually looking for events to give back to the community many of which are giving speeches or volunteering. I spoke at the Saint Paul Police Explorer Summer Academy , was invited to speech at a parent night for St. Odilia Middle School for which I am an Alumni, and spoke at my middle school graduation. I am continually involved with my community whether it being done through the Saint Paul Police Department, my parish ,or local community. I believe that attending volunteer events is critical to building an individual's character. Working fish frys, directing traffic during festivals, or at dog rescue centers, I am always looking for more ways to become involved in my community and build
