Clarissa Harlowe Barton was an important woman figure in the time of the Civil War. She was every soldiers’ angel in their time of suffering. She was even given the nickname “Angel of the Battlefield”, but let’s start off with getting to know Clara a little bit more before I tell you about how great she was. Clara was born on December 25, 1821, in Oxford, Massachusetts. Not only was Clara born on a great holiday, but she also founded the American Red Cross.
Dolores Clara Fernandez Huerta was born on April 10, 1930 in Dawson, New Mexico. Huerta is an American labor leader, civil rights activists, and was the co-founder of the National Farmworkers Association. Huerta’s father, Juan Fernandez, was a miner and a farm worker and later became the State Assemblyman of New Mexico. At an early age her parents divorced. Huerta lived most of her years with her mother, Alicia Chavez, and two brothers in Stockton, California.
Alina Diaz-Hernandez passed peacefully at home on Thursday, November 4, 2103 in Providence, R.I. at the age of 100. Alina is survived by her spouse, Francisca J. Hernandez Ruiz, her best friend, Elhaisha Tatis, her brother, Elias Diaz, her children and grandchildren, Rosalinda Bella Hernandez Rodriguez, Mariela Angelee Hernandez Mendez, and Jose Antonio Hernandez Mendez. She is preceded in death by her mom ,Leonor Anginette Contreras Guillen, her father, Elvis Diaz, her step father, Jeury Tavares , and her brother Derek Diaz and step brother Deury Tavares. Summary The Virgin of Guadalupe (La Virgin De Guadalupe) is an essential part of Latin American history, specifically Mexico. Averse to traditional Catholic belief, Guadalupe is essential in the theological structure of the Mexican Catholic believer. The sixteenth century was crucial for Spain's conquest and implementation of its policy of domination of the New World. It was a time of resistance by the Indians, who did not want to surrender themselves, their culture, religion and economy to the invaders (Pereyra 1997).
She was the tenth of thirteen children in her family and lived in Magenta, Italy. On April 14, 1928, Gianna made her first Communion and on October 11, she received her Baptism in the Basilica of Saint Martino in Magenta. Gianna’s sister Amelia was her Catholic inspiration, but died on January 22, 1937. As a teenager, she became a member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and the Azione Cattolica. On May 1, 1942, her mother died, so she graduated high school in June 1942, and returned to her family in Bergamo.

Due to U.S. governmental and economic interventions in Latin American countries, it has caused many people to migrate as refuges and flee unstable environments. These mass migrations have been followed by torturous trails and stories that many times end in death or abuse, however, other times it has allowed refugees to move away and live stable lives in the U.S. However, once in the U.S., these immigrants are faced with discriminatory policy based on false accusations that makes their lives unsafe and unprotected. Therefore, Latinx religious faith becomes a strong component of community for these groups.
