Fear The Court, Love Your God! Salem Massachusetts 1692, the early americas, still under the control of Great Britain. Early settlers daily life consisted of farming, church, cooking and what not. It was a necessity for men and boys to farm to provide food for the family, and to sell at market.
Salem, 1692 Living in the second largest port, people say trade built Salem to be prosperous. However, the trade appears to deteriorate the equal society of first generation farmers, like me, and the fishermen. Luckily, living in the eastern section of the village has gained me prosperity through the richer soils unlike the less fertile western half of the village. Moreover, the western half of the village lost their political influence they once possessed. Most importantly, the western half is where the majority of the witches lives.

Through history, many people were accused of crimes and sins that they did not commit. All the way back to the 1600’s, in Salem Massachusetts, 20 innocent civilians were killed for the false accusations of witchcraft. Although there was no evidence of any actual witches and it was all pure speculation, they were still labeled as guilty. Even when the accusers had figured out that they were actually innocent, they ultimately decided to execute them anyways to save their reputation. False accusations still happen to this day as in 2001, from Kansas city, Missouri, inmate Joseph Amrine was incarcerated for burglary and robbery and while in prison, he was sentenced to death for a crime that he did not commit.

Trials later took place after the accusations for the hearings of each person and to hear their story. Many people who had hearings lied to the court and said that they were possessed to not get executed and to save their lives but many did not want to lie because it was wrong and an injustice. The event led to 19 executions of all innocent people and 100 other innocent women, men, and children were put in prison because of the false accusations.
