The Truth:
In Salem, Massachusetts during 1692, the Salem witch trials started which became one of the famous trails in American history. A group of girls in the village came forward saying they were possessed by the devil and then proceeded to claim local woman of witchcraft. In January of 1692, a girl name Elizabeth and Abigail started having fits. A doctor was brought in to figure out was wrong with the girls and the doctor blamed the witchcraft for the girl’s conditions. Then soon other girls like Ann Putnam started to experience the same condition as Elizabeth and Abigail. With the town and the areas around Salem started to freak out so with pressure from the town’s people the girls blamed three women for bewitching them. The three women were …show more content…

She then described black images and how this one black man wanted her to sign a book and she said she signed it and there were many other witches who look to destroy everyone and their way of life. After that all three of them were put in and jail for their “crimes”. After this with everyone paranoid that witches lived among them, the town started to accuse each other, for months and months. People in the town were brought in for questioning to find other witches. This tore the town apart and another woman got charged, Martha Corey and even Sarah Good’s young four-year old daughter was questioned. Over the next few months everything went mad, a court was made for the witches, people were hung and killed. But then the Governor stopped from new arrest to happen and let go of the accused witches and eventually got the witches out of jail. But even though this stopped further pain and suffering, it had already caused so much damage to the area. This trial haunted the area for years and the people so much that people even know what the Salem Trials were
