The Crucible is set around the 1600’s and written by Arthur Miller. The puritans lived a very harsh but simple life. The puritans had very few values at the time, one of the values being ‘God’s Authority’. Their material values were more needs than wants, unlike today. Puritans were pretty much all about religion and some drama.

The Puritans were living a hard but simple life. They had practically no wants and all the needs, unlike today. Today our needs are technology one example of this is cell phones. Without cell phones or computers what would people do? It wasn’t as ‘simple’ as everyone thinks it was, the hard part of it was that they had people accusing other people of witchcraft, people being hypocritical,
