Art expresses many styles, emotions, and personalities. It has many shapes, sizes, and colors that describe the paintings. Surrealism is one of the many art movements. Surrealism comes from random thoughts of painters minds. Salvador Dali and Max Ernst are two famous surrealist painters who inspired future generations of artists. Surrealism is a philosophical movement. It is expressed in artist’s minds, dreams, and theories. Their artwork is made up of very random things. Some random things may have been strange colors or shapes. They used random things that came up in their head (Surrealism). Surrealism first began in France in the 1920s. It really became popular in the 1930s. Surrealism was inspired from another movement called Dadaism. This movement was very similar to surrealism (Surrealism Movement). He died 1989 in Spain. He trained at many art schools. One school for example was San Fernando School of Fine Arts. Salvador Dali’s art was very strange ,and he had many interesting art works (Early Life). One was called the The Persistence of Memory. This painting was made in Spain. In the painting there are many odd things ,and it had many unusual things. There is a beach with the ocean and sand. The sky is a yellowish blue color. There are also many strange melted clocks. They almost look like they are bent. There is also a tree with some melted clocks on it. The painting has an object which looks like some kind of animal. It almost looks like some kind of horse (Salvador Dali). Another one of his famous paintings was The Great Masturbator. This was also a quite odd painting. Probably just by hearing the name it sounds strange. The painting has a big blob which is the main part of the painting. This is one of his most famous paintings
