Country singer/songwriter, guitarist, and pianist Sam Hunt is a rising star that you’re soon to know the name of. While Sam Hunt is new, he is still one of the best artists. Some may even say, he is the best. Not only has Hunt won many awards, he writes his music in a way that is relatable to all of his listeners, but it is also very diverse. His songs don’t reflect traditional country music, but pleases fans of all genres. Sam Hunt has topped many charts, won a few awards, and written songs for great artists. But it doesn’t stop there. With his most recent album, Montevallo, he broke several chart records, with five singles coming from the album. The lead single from this album, “Leave the Night On”, hit number one on the Hot Country Charts and Country Airplay Charts at the same time. Hunt is now known to be the first country music artist in 22 years, since Billy Ray Cyrus, to reach the top of three country music charts simultaneously. He is also the first country music artist since Clint Black to occupy the year-end

There, he played football at Cedartown High School, before heading off to Middle Tennessee State University, where he stayed for two years. Shortly after, he transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Hunt once tried to pursue a professional football career with the Kansas Chiefs where he was signed on as a free agent, but he eventually turned to music instead. Through all of the locker rooms he had been through, it is safe to say he heard a variety of different types of music. This inspired much of his singing and songwriting. He blended the 1990s country he grew up on, R&B, and other pop styles, to create a type of music that is recognized both inside and outside of the country music world. With high hopes, he headed to Nashville to pursue his career. Fortunately, he was signed on to a publishing deal very quickly. Ever since then, he’s been a flourishing artist.
