Introduction My proposal for an AIDS-free generation is to give out resources to the people infected by the virus to fight off HIV/AIDS but I'm going to be mainly focusing on the African American community because they make 46% of new HIV infections. It's true that 36.7 million people are living with HIV globally and 40% of them don't know that they have the disease(http://www.who.int). Therefore, we must give them materials/medication to help cope with the disease. People who are treated with the right medication and resources are more likely to survive the HIV/AIDS epidemic I believe that giving out medication to the black community would improve the world and their life because they are being the most affected by the HIV virus. I am requesting funding so that the money that I make it would go to HIV/AIDS patients that cannot afford the treatment or are low-income. Direct services help people meet their basic needs and providing for their material well-being. The HIV/AIDS epidemic in the bay area continues to spread, particularly in urban areas and within certain populations such as young African-American men. San Francisco AIDS Foundation said, “San Francisco has one of the largest HIV-positive populations in the United States with an estimated 15,995 people living with HIV”(San Francisco AIDS Foundation). This quote is showing that 15,995 people are living with HIV/AIDS in SF and the population of SF is 837,442 this is important because if more people get HIV/AIDS those numbers will increase passing
