Samurai Or Knight One battle, one fight, someone must win to night. Who would win in a battle? While the samurai and knights have many similarities, in a one to one battle, the advantage would be to the samurai, and this can be seen in their training, armor, and weapons. The first way that the samurai have an advantage is their training. In document C1 written by PBS,it says, “ The rigorous training of a samurai began when they were children… the moral code of the samurai.” The samurai trained since they were children and were taught the moral code of a samurai, bushido. In document D written by the DBQ Project, says, “ Samurai did not wear armor on their right arm…” They did this because they saw this as a faster and easier way to draw their bow and other weapons. They didn’t wear much armor because it would slow them down. Another piece of evidence that supports this claim is in document D written by the DBQ Project, it says, “ One disadvantage of the samurai’s armor is that when it became wet…became very heavy…” Their armor did get very heavy when it got wet but it was very light when it wasn’t. The lightness of the armor helped them maneuver alot better. Wear minimal armor also helped the with accuracy when using a weapon, which brings us to the next category. The final way the samurai were stronger were their weapons. In the warrior video written by the history channel, states, “ The katana was the samurai’s weapon…” The katana was made in Japan and was 48 inches long and meant for slashing or for cutting sideways. Another piece of evidence, in the warrior video it says, “ The samurai were very fast and good with their weapon.” The samurai were trained to use their many weapons. They were also trained to react quickly in
