Justice is a core value of the Samurai and it requires reflecting on what is fair and upholding moral character value. Courage requires the strength not only to perceive but to act from what is right or wrong. Compassion requires seeing the world from the perspective of others and manifesting love and sympathy through patience. Respect requires acknowledging your regard for the experiences and feelings of others while having to be polite. Integrity requires living honestly and sincerely. Honor requires upholding a sense of self worth and acknowledging your moral responsibility. Loyalty requires staying true to yourself and when fealty is given to another, it must not be abandoned even in difficult circumstances. Finally self-control requires having control over every emotion, thoughts, and behavior. …show more content…

Samurais with great power became known as shoguns, while those without daimyo or masters became known as ronins which caused minor troubles during the 1600s. After 250 years of the Edo Period, the importance of martial arts skills declined and many samurai became bureaucrats, teachers or artists. Many would think that the bushido code would fade away with the samurai, however Japanese nationalists and war leaders continued to appeal to this cultural ideal throughout the early 20th century and WWII. Bushido continues to resonate in modern Japan till this day but is mostly stress on courage, self-denial, and loyalty.(5) Even though the samurais are gone, they will always be known as the most disciplined warriors of Japan with their bushido code still living till this day. People nowadays seem to be intrigued by the samurai and will live their lifestyle or own some sort of samurai equipment. As modern age continues to evolve, there is no knowing if the samurais will ever be back but
