San Francisco is a city located in northern California on the tip of a peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. San Francisco was founded on June 29,1776 by Spain. San Francisco has a Climate very close to a Mediterranean Climate and there is lots of fog. Temperatures in San Francisco rarely range below 37 degrees Fahrenheit or above 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Over the course of a year the temperature typically varies from 44 degrees Fahrenheit to 73 degrees Fahrenheit. San Francisco has been given the name “the air-conditioned city” because its temperatures don’t go extremely high or extremely low. San Francisco, with an ideal climate for outdoor activities, has many resources and opportunities for amateur and professional sports and recreations. There are more than 220 parks maintained by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department. The best known and the largest park is Golden Gate Park. Golden Gate Park stretches from the center of the city west to Pacific Ocean. The large park is rich with cultural and natural attractions. Alamo Square is another well-known park.
