Sandra Day O’Connor was born on March 26, 1930, in El Paso, Texas. She grew up in her family’s ranch, Lazy B, in Arizona, where she became adept at riding and assisted with ranch duties. Growing up, O’Connor displayed a high level of intelligence. Her parents wanted her to have a love for education, but schooling options near the ranch were limited. Therefore, her parents had to send her to live with her grandmother in El Paso, TX. There, she attended the Radford School for Girls and graduated high school two years early.
