Chapter Two: Miguel Angel Palacios “A 19 years old man named Miguel Angel Palacios, also known as Michelangelo Palacios, who was allegedly killed by a drunken neighbor named Jesús Antonio Castaño, at about six in the morning on May 4, 2014 in Envigado, Colombia, after Palacios and his brother Juan Pablo went to the defense of a dog named Jerry.” ( Miguel Ángel Palacios Montoya, 19, was killed defending a dog.) The miniature pinscher dog Jerry, who was a pet of a man named Albeiro Cortez, who wasn't present during this situation. On May 4, 2014 in Envigado, Colombia at about six in the morning.
Introduction San Diego de Alcala was the first mission in Alta California that Father Serra and Captain Gaspar de Portola established on July 16, 1769. They built it in San Diego Bay, where the tribe named “Kumeyaay” was settling. The Native Americans became mad after the Spanish missionaries treated the native people badly, so they decided to attack the mission. After the disaster, Father Serra came back from Mission San Carlos to San Diego to see people rebuilding Mission San Diego. Kumeyaay Before the Spanish started settling, a tribe named “Kumeyaay” was living.
Mission Report by Jaydon Yuki Mission San Luis Rey de Francia was the last mission founded by Father Fermin Francisco de Lasuén on June 13, 1798. A mission is a place where people are taught about religion. Father Junipero Serra was a Franciscan friar sent by the King of Spain to spread their religion and claim land for Spain. After Father Serra died in 1784, Father Lasuén took over the responsibility for looking after the missions and founding new missions in Alta California. For a mission to be built, it had to have 3 things: rich soil, water supply, and a large population of natives.
Juan Ponce De Leon stood at a towering 4 feet 11 inches. He was born in the village of Santervas de Campos, Spain, 1747. His primary goal was to find gold and colonize land for Spain. He was the very first European known to have visited the America, known as present day United States in 1513. He also discovered Florida and the Bahama Channel, and was ordered to colonize Puerto Rico.
On first glance, "Enrique's Journey" and "Dreamers" seem like completely different books but the purpose of the books are the same; they convey the importance of relationships for immigrant families. "Enrique's Journey", written by Sonia Nazario, focuses on the story of a mother who leaves her children behind in Honduras, thinking that she could better help them with money from America. Enrique desperately craves reuniting with his mother after feeling completely isolated and risks his life to immigrate to the U.S. On the other hand, "Dreamers", written by Yuyi Morales, is about a mother who leaves behind all of her belongings to immigrate with her son to the U.S. Since they have nothing else, they rely on each other to settle into their new
Cabeza de Vaca attitude towards the new world was that of suffering and starvation. During his travels, he ate very little, mostly deer-tallow and at one point powdered straw. They did not eat during the day and ate very little at night. Cabeza de Vaca and his men grew very tired and hungry, but could not let the Native Americans see this suffering because they were upholding their authority over them. Sonia Nazario’s piece, Enrique’s Journey, thoroughly depicts the hardships that come with modern day immigration and the issues that can stem from a single decision. In her book, Nazario writes that immigration “is a powerful stream...that can only be addressed at its source” (Nazario xxv). She uses the metaphor of a stream or river to illustrate the gradual escalation of complications that can arise from immigration and the choice of pursuing a greater future in the United States. Just like a river, a majority of the force behind immigration currently has developed through several minor justifiable situations that create a widespread consequence. Enrique’s Journey talks about the struggles of a teenaged boy named Enrique and his family in Honduras. The boy takes a dangerous journey to America in order to see his mother again. She left to find work in the United States when he was just five. She knew her children would not be able to attend school past the third grade. She does not want them to grow up as she did, in poverty.
The book Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nazario is a nonfiction book based on a real story told throughout 367 pages. The reason why I decided to read this book is that it was highly recommended by one of my former English teachers. I was extremely persuaded to read this book by her but I also personally believed that by reading this book I would gain a new understanding of life by really opening my mind to new experiences that other people go through.
72 days in the Andes no food, nothing. I read the book Miracle in the Andes, written by , Nando Parrado. Nando Parrado plays for a rugby team and he and his team go on a trip to play a game. The pilot says there is bad weather, but Nando and his friends start calling the pilot names, so the pilot listens and flies them to their game. But, they did not make it to their game.
Homesteading is to protect equity, not physical ownership of property. The reason for homesteading is related to the forced sale of the primary residence and the equity disbursement to non-lienholder creditors (Sedgwick LLP, 2010). Homeowners have two pathways to Homesteading, with different protections. As with many rules and regulations, common understanding of the term has few ties to the application of the law in practice. It can be questionable as to if homesteading is a real value to a homeowner in today’s financial world.

Selena was often known as the the Queen of Tejano music. Making herself well known in a genre of music dominated mostly by men. She was arguably one of the most successful women singers to live.
Nuclear Power is the use of nuclear reactions that release nuclear energy to generate heat. It is produced by an atomic reaction, capable of producing an alternative source of electrical power to that supplied by coal, gas, or oil. A nuclear reactor creates energy through a chain reaction that splits a uranium nucleus, releasing energy in the form of heat. Fast breeder reactors, which use plutonium as fuel, generate more energy than they expend. Plutonium is not a natural element.
A drug lord, government official, hero, and villain. Pablo Escobar was born December 1, 1949 in a town named Rionegro, Colombia. His mother, Hermilda was a schoolteacher, and his father Abel farmed. Escobar had achieved a great quantity of accomplishments, from the beginning to the end of his life. From his rise as a lower class citizen, to then being amongst the prestigious group of people associated with the economic rank of the 1 percent.
The noise the customers made was immense which reminded me how popular a place this is. I made my way to the coffee bar at the end of the shop made of reclaimed wood. A barista stood before me. He welcomed me with a charming smile. I got my cup of Americano and paid for it in the next counter.
