Love it or hate it, social media is here to stay. The rapid development of technology all around the world in my short lifetime has been quite a sight to see, and I don’t think one can argue against social media being a part of that. Video gaming system development, for example, has taken users from holding a small, simple Nintendo DS with a tiny screen, to an Xbox Series X controller, with the ability to play on a vast, 60-inch flat screen TV. I think that social media should be a positive place to share exciting times in their lives, just to be able to connect with long distance friends. Now, for most people, that is what it is used for, but you will always have the people who are out to cause trouble and that is what brings things downhill for everyone. Mistakes that some people make can potentially ruin their entire lives. If we could push to make social media a positive place so that people actually want to be on it. Looking back at it, the usage of social media came in very handy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were able to still experience some of our usual activities through the use of social media. Things like - watching church on a Facebook live stream, teachers using YouTube to share their lessons to the remote students, or as a personal experience from many people in the class of 2021-2024, the use of virtual tours around campuses due to the strict in-person pandemic guidelines. These things have almost just become a regular thing today as they are still very useful for family members who are far away during any event that they need to watch from a live
