It was a very merry day in London on December 25, 1853 as the village was filled with laughter and joy as families all around celebrated the ecstatic holiday of Christmas together. When Christmas comes to a close, he must go back to work when Bob Cratchit, who is a few minutes late greets him. To play a little joke, Scrooge pretends to be furious and unforgiving of his simple mistake but turns it around when he exclaims he is going to promote him!
The book and movie version of the story, “A Christmas Carol” are alike, but they are also very different. There are more similarities than there are differences. In my opinion the movie is better than the book. Some people may think otherwise, but I think the movie is better. There are a lot of similarities and differences in the two.

Today I am going to be discussing about the similarities and the differences between the book and the movie, in the book and the movie Scrooge was the main character they both had the part where Scrooge had an argument with his Nephew. In the movie and the book they had the same types of lessons learned. The difference is that in the movie Scrooge had a dog while in the book, it never mentions that Scrooge had a dog.
In a little town called Who-Ville, lived the Whos, that loved Christmas time more than any other time of the year. On top of Mount Crumpit, lived the Grinch with his one friend Max, that was a dog and he loathed Christmas and the Whos that celebrated it. He sat in his cave and listened to the Whos singing carols and celebrating Christmas. The more he had to listen, the more he hated Christmas. All the Whos believed that he hated Christmas so much was because his heart was two sizes too small, which did not help with enjoying this time of year.
A christmas carol The movie and the play were differences in many ways but, i'm only going to say four one difference from each Act. Number one, in the movie when Mr. Scrooge walked up to his home the door knocker was normal but when he went to go put the key in the door it turned into a ghost. When Mr. Scrooge tried to touch the ghost it started screaming and saying things and Scrooge fell down the stairs. But in the play, they never said anything about the door knocker being a ghost.
Dr. Seuss’ poem, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” can be analyzed using many different schools of criticism, however, the psychoanalytical school of criticism holds allows us to truly understand the “true meaning” behind the poem. The poem begins with a socially isolated character, the Grinch, who loathes Christmas and wishes to completely destroy it. He wants to completely eliminate Christmas from “Whoville.” The Grinch gets irritated whenever when he hears the singing from the children and sees families feasting together in the holiday season. However, as the poem progress, the Grinch starts to feel the love and happiness involved with Christmas and ends up correcting his wrongdoings to ultimately enjoy Christmas with the “Whos.”
