Homelessness, what a heavy word to say it out loud, it’s a condition and mental issue also is a social phenomenon we are facing right now. Do you wonder why every time you walk down the street, especially in the downtown area, there are always some blocks full lot people living in a tent by the street, who are these people? Why do they live in a tent by the street? Are they drug addicts? There will be so many more questions floating in your mind but there is always one strong word coming out of your head homelessness. “Homelessness, which refers to the lack of a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, is a pervasive public health issue” (Hunter Rand health quarterly). Yes, you can see homelessness on the surface, but you can’t see through their mind, some people may not define themselves as homeless although they are homeless after and it’s also elevated it as a social issue to mental illness. …show more content…

Are those bills working or are they just pleasing the people to vote for them? For this case, I will be focus and discuss the importance and cause of the homelessness in California with my personal solution in 5 different directions, such as increasing affordable housing, expanding physical and mental health services, implementing rent control, more job opportunities, and assistance for the vulnerable. By focusing on these solutions, although they can’t be fixed completely, we can slowly work towards reducing homelessness and creating a healthier, equitable society with harmony relationships in each
