Smoking Tobacco
Tobacco has a long history in the United States. Tobacco revenue helped build the United States to what it is today. Tobacco also has its major downfall to the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, says more people deaths are caused each year by tobacco use, rather than by all deaths from any other preventable cause. Smoking tobacco is growing trend in the United States. There are many reasons why smoking should be outlawed in the United States. Cigarette smoking should be outlawed because of the negative effects of health on smokers, negative effects on non smokers, chemicals in cigarettes, and the influence it has on our youth.

Being around tobacco smoke is bad for people. When someone smokes a cigarette, most of the smoke doesn't go into their lungs most of the smoke goes into the air. The smoke goes into the air where any person nearby can breathe it in. Secondhand smoke exposure can causes diseases. Second hand smoke can short life expectancy in children and adults who do not smoke. Secondhand smoke contains hundreds of chemicals. The Surgeon General says there is no risk free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. If people can smell cigarette smoke in the air, it can be harmful to their health. Secondhand smoke gives people a greater chance to get lung cancer and many other types of cancer. Secondhand smoke is also bad for the heart. Secondhand smoke is very harmful to children. Secondhand smoke also causes problems in children with asthma. Secondhand smoke is less concentrated than the smoke that is inhaled by actual smokers. Majority of smokers just think about how cigarettes relieves their stress, calm them down, relaxes them, and comforts them. There are many Harmful chemicals in cigarettes? These chemicals are commonly found in the family household. Formaldehyde the main chemical used to preserve dead bodies, and is responsible for nose, throat, and eye irritation of smokers. Pesticides that we use on our fields, and inhaled into our lungs through cigarette smoke. Arsenic found in rat poison finds its way into cigarette smoke through some of the pesticides that are used in tobacco farming. Carbon monoxide we find in our and is lethal in very large amounts. Different cigarettes contain different levels of carbon monoxide. Nicotine is a poison and is the main purpose why people get addictive to cigarettes.
