Art has always been the center of my life. I enjoyed practicing art and loved to share arts with others. When I was in elementary school, I started learning fine arts and was totally in love with it. Ever since, I never gave up practicing fine arts because I believe that it is one thing that can bring me peace, joy and comfort. Until now, this is my fourth year in high school art club and my third year in taking art. All these provided me with numerous opportunities to improve my art skill, practicing art and share my achievements with others. In my freshman year’s art club field trip, I went to a local church and painted bible stories on the walls of kids’ classroom. It was the first opportunity I had to show my work in such a big “stage” where my art could be appreciated and learned by a whole group of kids. In every year’s Operation Christmas Child volunteers, I always painted a little map of China in a sheet of paper, and tuck it in the shoebox, along with the presents I prepared for the kids in need. No matter how big my drawing paper was, and no matter how many people could possibly see my art, I loved to share beautiful things to them through art. …show more content…
History as my first AP class. By taking this course, I gradually developed my interest in history. Through this AP course, I learned to not only understand the historical event that happened, but to think about the reasons and consequences behind it. I learned that historical events are not in blocks - they influence each other both vertically and horizontally. The large amounts of reading materials did not throw me off, but rather provided me with a more detailed and concrete explanations of the events. The more materials I read and learn, the more patterns I started to see throughout the history. For me, learning history becomes an exploring process which allows me to discover big links between major events as well as tiny connections within each individual
