New York Times article "Family Finds Home Schooling Fits In With Its Values and Seasonal Rhythms" by Jane Gross briefly describes the homeschooling experience for the Belcher family. Children Christopher, 10, Noah, 7, and Zia, 5 were raised as farmers and home school students. Their parents believed “that God is absent from public school classrooms.” (Gross 2). Which influenced some of their teachings from the bible. Both parents had no training in teaching however, attempted to advocate math, reading, and testing. Both Christopher and Noah accepted homeschooling unlike Zia who wished to attend school. Mr.Belcher and Mrs Belcher were considering Zia request however, felt that homeschooling was educational and opened for family activities.
