Scientology is a religion based on freeing man kind and creating a sane world. It was founded in 1954 after L. Ron Hubbard had been publishing psychology books about the mind, reactive mind and exteriorization. Exteriorization is a belief that one’s spirit is separate from the mind, which is a substantial belief in Scientology today. Scientology is focused on man’s spirit, and the idea of making today’s unsettled society more balanced. This research paper will discuss a Scientologist’s beliefs on the creation of humans, their creeds, their practices of auditing, and Operating Thetans.

These codes and creeds were created by L. Ron Hubbard in the 1950’s during the early creation of the religion. The Creed of the Church of Scientology is the major creed that states what Scientologists believe in. In the Creed there are fourteen core beliefs including “…all men… were created with equal rights” and “that man is basically good… [and] he is seeking to survive” (The Creed of the Church of Scientology). Also included are four beliefs of what God forbids of mankind such as “to destroy his own kind” and “to destroy or enslave another’s soul” (The Creed of the Church of Scientology). The Code of Honor is a moral document that describes the way of life and is not strictly enforced in the Scientology community. In short, the Code of Honor includes fifteen rules on how to live life properly, and it contains many self-guiding tips on how to deal with greed and internal emotions. These rules are not strictly enforced because the church wants their members to have free will. If these rules were enforced then members of Scientology would not consider it a way of life, but rather more rules they are required to follow. On the other hand, the Code of a Scientologist is something that all Scientologists must pledge to help gain human rights with the press. With the Code of a Scientologist, Scientologists believe that they should support all human rights, work for more freedoms, and “make this world a saner, better place” (Code of a Scientologist). This code has been revised since it was first created in 1954 a total of three times. This is due to the fact that the media and press are always changing, so Scientologists have decided to continue revising their codes until they are up-to-date with current press
