“ Help, Help, Rape, Rape!” That was what was heard at Scottsboro, Alabama in 1931. This started a famous trial called The Scottsboro Trial. The Scottsboro trial occurred during The Great Depression. The Scottsboro boys were accused of this crime because during this time period racism was a huge problem. Before the train that the Scottsboro boys were on made a stop the boys got into a fight with two white adults (Ritterhouse). The Supreme said that they were not given a good lawyer. If they were white they would have most likely gotten a better lawyer.
