Passchendaele takes place 3 years into World War 1, the Great War. Sgt. Michael Dunne is sent back to Calgary, Alberta after being diagnosed with neurasthenia due to the trauma he suffered during a fierce battle in the war. He meets Sarah Mann the nurse who is helping him recover. In the meantime, David Mann, Sarah’s brother, is desperately trying to get Cassie Walker’s father to accept his relationship with his daughter.
World War Video Games In Steven Johnson ’s essay “Games” (2005), he constructs his argument by saying that playing video games is no better or worse than reading, it is simply exercising different skills. What kept my interest in this short essay was the fresh take on the subject on how video games effect young adults. He addresses the audience knowing they will agree with his contrast of the two subjects or take it to be completely true. His explanation of it allows him to reach even the biased of readers to accept the rest of his argument.

However, it was so much more than that, it was about Mexican Americans obtaining their rights. They were considered white but they did not get fair treatment. They were called horrible names and were treated poorly compared to white folks.
Throughout the movie “End of Watch” follows along with Officer Brian Taylor (Gyllenhaal) and Officer Mike Zavala (Pena) on their daily patrols in the inner city of Los Angeles. During the course of the movie, there are many things that Officer Taylor and Officer Zavala do that is very common and even accepted among police officers. But, one reoccurring theme is that they use foul language while on duty, act unprofessional, and use excessive force. In addition, Officer Taylor is actively recording his daily activities while on duty with a handheld video camera and lapel body cameras for both himself and Officer Zavala. Even though Officer Taylor was repeatedly told to cease his filming by fellow officers and supervisors he continued his behavior.

In the book Old School by Tobias Wolff, the unnamed narrator struggles through healthy imitation and plagiarism inside of the Hill school. While attending this school, the narrator enters a writing contest. The submission the narrator uses is of another person, but he claims the writing to be so related to him and how the writing is his life in a sense. The narrator ends up plagiarizing the piece and is expelled by the school. The school expelled him with thought of reputation and to set an example for the other students.
The film 13th directed by Ava DuVernay targets an intended audience of the Media and the three branches of the United States government with an emphasis that mass incarceration is an extension of slavery. It is intended to inform viewers about the criminalization of African Americans and the United States prison boom. 13th uses rhetorical devices in its claim to persuade the viewers by using exemplum in the opening seconds of the film. President Barack Obama presents statistics, saying “the United States is home to 5% of the world’s population but is home to 25% of the world’s prisoners.” Also the film uses a hyperbole in talking about the movie Birth of a Nation produced in 1915 which portrays a black man as a violent savage who will kill white women.
Growing up, one of my favorite movies was Piglet’s Big Movie, this movie followed Christopher Robbin’s friend Winnie the Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Woods, specifically Piglet. Without divulging too much of the plot, let me give you a short summary. The small pink friend of Winnie the Pooh is struggling to find who he is, and where he belongs in the woods. As he searches to find where exactly this place is, he visits each of his friends to see where they fit in and if he fits in with them.
Lauren Hale, professor in the department of family, population, and preventative health at Stony Brook University, collaborated with her team at Stony Brook University to study the effects of screen time in children. This study focused on exploring the differences between passive and interactive screen time. However, the study showed no significant differences between the effects of interactive versus passive screen time. Thus, the article concludes that all forms of screen time should be limited. This article will be helpful in supporting the thesis, because it denies one of the common fallacies that screen time can be categorized into positive and negative types of screen time, arguing instead that all forms of screen time should be limited and treated with caution.

Some questions that are brought up are how much gaming is too much gaming? Over using any substance would certainly cause an addiction, wouldn’t it?
