On pages 52-53 it talks about the family he could of had if Scrooge would of ran after Belle. Instead he didn’t go after her, he didn’t live the happy life that he wanted, but he lived the sad, grumpy life he was in already. After all of the regret he had felt he wasn’t able to stand his own past anymore.
He is visited by the three spirits of Christmas. He gets a visit by the spirit of Christmas past, the present, and the future! These three spirits are on a very difficult mission to help Scrooge get that happy, wonderful spirit. After three hours Scrooge will become a changed man who is ready for Christmas with his family and everyone else. I believe, though, that the spirit of the future changed him the most.

Marley tells scrooge that three other ghosts are going to come to Scrooge home, and leaves after telling Scrooge to change his ways before it's hurts him. Scrooge thinks nothing of this and thinks it a illness, but as Marley said, he would get visited from one of the Ghost of Christmas that is named Past. This ghost takes scrooge down memory lane of his childhood memories and Scrooge sadly begins sob when he think about his past as a boy. The past also features events from Scrooge's young adulthood, when he transforms into the rude miser that he ends up being after rejecting his wife and not learning the lessons of kindness taught by Fezziwig, the man he was apprenticed to.
By looking back on his past makes Scrooge realize why he truly hates Christmas time. It is because his lover, Belle, left him for money. This ironically parallels Scrooge’s future with love ones. He pushes others away and even holds back money from his own family. The Ghost of Christmas Present just makes Scrooge worse, by showing that his actions are slowly killing Bob Cratchit and the rest of his family.
Scrooge had a sister named fan, she and scrooge were left alone to care for them selves. Scrooge bonded with her and when she died on Christmas scrooge would remember that day forever. Scrooge also fell in love with a young woman named belle. He proposed and she accepted it, but when he got greedy she left him. Scrooge thought by making lots of money he could live comfortably but that just made him even more greedy.
Scrooge remembers emotions from his earlier years; he recalls what it feels like to be loved and cared for. Tears come to Scrooge’s eyes as he ponders a memory of his sister embracing his younger self. He remembers the tender affection, and the deep connection that they shared. Ebenezer regrets the ways that he cherished money over his dear sister and over Belle, the love of his life. As he watches his younger self, Scrooge recognizes that his business took over his life, resulting in his disconnection with his sister and Belle.
Scrooge is actually happy at this time. The Spirit finally takes him to his worst nightmare. she takes him to the exact moment when Ebenezer’s girlfriend releases him. On a Christmas eve, Scrooge(whose father has died and now he has finally made his fortune) comes home from work and finds his girlfriend at the park on a bench. His girlfriend sadly goes off about how he never has time for her and his thoughts had been consumed by money.
He is once again reminded of her kindness and misses her dearly. The spirit reminds Scrooge that Fan had a child, and the old man wishes he could have shown more compassion toward his gentle and caring sister’s son.
